The Carnival Caravan Ensemble at the New School / School of Jazz, explores the vibrant intercultural connections of New Orleans and Brazil, a journey of two distant musical cousins separated at birth. It is a tale of two cultures that were born into bondage and survived through a musical journey to freedom and self-expression.
New Orleans and Brazil are most famous for throwing some of the greatest carnival celebrations where they get to show off their music and culture. This ensemble will embrace the spirit of carnival while we explore the roots of this music. FREE.
