Flutist/ethnomusicologist Dr. Jessica Valiente performs on nearly 20 flutes from a dozen world cultures, plus songs and storytelling. Included will be flutes from North America, Brazil, the Andes, China, Japan, Ireland, England, Nigeria, Ghana, and more. Dr. Valiente has been the musical director of Los Mas Valientes (Latin jazz and salsa) for 20 years, and performs with orchestras as well as Latin, Brazilian, and jazz groups all over the northeastern United States.
