Older pedestrians as a group make up 35% of pedestrian fatalities annually in New York City, although they represent only 13% of the City’s population. New York is working hard to reduce pedestrian fatalities among seniors through several initiatives to improve street safety. You can do your part, too, by learning to be a savvy walker in the City. This workshop will educate seniors about risks at the intersection, safety tips and understanding the DOT safety tools. Open discussion at the end of the workshop for comments and ideas from the seniors. Free.
