Baseball legend Jackie Robinson portrays himself in this inspirational biographical film, which charts the sports icon’s struggles to make it as a professional athlete in a segregated society before breaking the color barrier as the first black player in Major League Baseball. The opportunity to see the inimitable Robinson tell his own story—both on and off the field—makes this a moving, invaluable record of American history.
