Presented in collaboration with Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concerts, at Flushing Town Hall. The lively, joyous sound of Matuto entwines Brazilian folk music with the flatpicking guitars and fiery fiddling of American bluegrass. Matuto (Brazilian slang for “country boy”) beautifully embraces Brazilian forró rhythms and the folk traditions of the American South with accordion, guitar, bass, triangle, and zabumba, a bass drum often used in Brazilian music.
